Good Things Foundation has partnered with Google to bring the Digital Garage programme to the Online Centres Network and the people in their communities.
From July 2016 10,000 additional people will be helped through 100 community organisations within the Online Centres Network, reaching out to help people in their local area to improve their digital skills to make the most of their business.
Small businesses, sole traders and people setting up businesses will be supported to make the most of Digital Garage resources so they can find a new job, set-up a new business, or make their businesses more efficient and profitable.
“In the digital age, a basic understanding of how the online world works is useful; and when it comes to business, it’s essential. At Google, we’re fully committed to helping people become more digitally savvy, and through this partnership, we hope to extend our support to communities where in-depth support and training is most needed.”

Google Digital Garage Bus Tour
Google’s Digital Garage bus toured the Greater Manchester region, visiting over 30 locations in between January and the end of March.
The bus, equipped with all the latest technology, alongside expert trainers, provided an accessible way for people to learn how to improve their digital skills. Visitors to the bus were able to join courses on how to build a CV, social media strategy, and other areas to improve their digital skills.
After the success of the Greater Manchester leg, the Digital Garage Bus tour, coordinated by Good Things Foundation, moved on to the West Midlands region. Throughout April, May and June the bus will again visit 30 locations offering local communities the opportunity to learn digital skills.
The bus will be visiting organisations in the Online Centres Network, who already provide a range of support to help their communities to embrace the benefits of digital.
The Google Digital Garage project is part of Google’s commitment to provide free digital skills training to everyone across the UK. The bus will be visiting organisations in the Online Centres Network who already provide a range of support to help their communities to embrace the benefits of digital.
